SIA “Poligrāfijas grupa Mūkusala” continues to improve the efficiency of energy resource use, reduce energy consumption, and transition to renewable energy sources by implementing comprehensive solutions to increase energy efficiency in the company’s production processes.

The energy efficiency project implemented in 2019 allows the company to continue optimizing the use of energy resources, exceeding the projected outcome targets of the project. To date, several energy efficiency measures have been implemented: an energy-efficient cooling and ventilation system has been installed in the production facilities, the existing lighting has been replaced with LED fixtures, the KOMORI dryer in the magazine printing equipment has been modernized, compressors have been replaced, and two thermal plate-making machines have been replaced with one new, significantly more energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly solution.

The project’s targeted outcome – a reduction in energy consumption by 1065.25 MWh/year, including a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by at least 214.72 tons of CO2/year.

Achieved Results

During the project implementation period from 2020 to 2023, the following results were achieved:

Reduction in energy consumption:

  • In 2020: 1,364.55 MWh
  • In 2021: 1,350.05 MWh
  • In 2022: 1,192.08 MWh
  • In 2023: 1,476.39 MWh

Reduction in carbon dioxide emissions:

  • In 2020: 361.01 tons
  • In 2021: 346.28 tons
  • In 2022: 297.81 tons
  • In 2023: 339.79 tons

Charts

Below are the charts that show the reduction in energy consumption and CO2 emissions per year, comparing the actual results against the targeted project outcomes.
