The work has begun on expansion and modernization of production of “Poligrāfijas grupa Mūkusala”.

Projects

From the very beginning “Poligrāfijas grupa Mūkusala” Ltd. has been an ambitious printing-house. Historically, the company’s operation has been based on cooperation with publishers, which allows the company to develop and grow, foreseeing changes of the market that has impact on mass media. This year, the goals are also ambitious, well-grounded and oriented to customers’ needs and expectations.

In 2015, “Poligrāfijas grupa Mūkusala” Ltd. will double magazine production capacity by installing new equipment: printing press KOMORI 38s and Saddle stitcher Müller Martini PRIMERA.  The new equipment will make it possible not only to increase production capacity, but also will ensure a continuous and stable operation of the printing-house. Currently, the works on installation of the printing press KOMORI 38s have been started successfully and in accordance with the work schedule. Installation of Post-Press equipment PRIMERA is planned to begin at the end of August. Both of the new equipment units will be put into operation in early September this year.

“Poligrāfijas grupa Mūkusala” Ltd. will become the first printing-house in Latvia providing printing of delivery addresses on finished products. Digital printer for in-line printing of addresses and personalization DOMINO Bitjet+ v4.5 is capable of printing on a variety of materials even on polythene wrap. So far, for provision of this service were attracted foreign cooperation partners which significantly affected order fulfilment schedules and reduced competitiveness in export markets. This specific service is particularly important for order fulfilment of Western European countries’ and enables to ensure accurate preparation of finished products for distribution by post. The equipment is planned to be installed at the end of August.

“Poligrāfijas grupa Mūkusala” Ltd. makes investments in modernization of the existing equipment. It is planned to replace the automatic colour control system QuadTech for the existing printing press KOMORI 38s with its new and more advanced version.

The project “Purchase of new printing equipment”, which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, is being implemented in cooperation with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (Contract No. L-APV-14-0120). The project implementation is expected till the third quarter (included) of 2015.
