The Helsinki Book Fair — the largest literary event in the Nordic countries — took place last week, October 22 – 25, 2026, at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.
Celebrating its 26th edition, this year’s event focused on language — its power, significance, and potential in literature — while exploring how language evolves and is shaped by writers. Visitor numbers rose for the fifth consecutive year, with over 112,000 lovers of literature, wine, and food attending the Helsinki Book Fair and the concurrent Wine and Food Fair over the four days.
Jana Līkuma, Sales representative at Poligrāfijas grupa Mūkusala, attended the event and shared her impressions:
“I spent last week at the Helsinki Book Fair, meeting publishers, catching up with industry contacts, and learning more about the Finnish publishing market. It was great to have so many interesting conversations about magazines, print, and what publishers are looking for in a printing partner.
It is always nice to put faces to names, make new connections, and explore opportunities to work together. Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with me — I look forward to keeping in touch and seeing where these conversations lead!”
